Consciously Creating A New YOU in 2023

Most of us make New Year’s Resolutions at the beginning of each year only to abandon them before January is half over. People give up on their resolutions because they are too hard to stick with. If, however, we just commit to step into our power and consciously create the life we want to live, life gets so much easier and much, much more fun!

You might say “How do I go about creating the life I’ve always dreamed of but is always just out of reach?” The answer is easy…we have to align our subconscious beliefs with our conscious goals. You see our subconscious beliefs rule our reality-they rule all. So even if we consciously desire something (example: to quit smoking) if our subconscious beliefs say otherwise (you’re not strong enough to kick the habit because you’ve been smoking your whole life) then the subconscious beliefs win. They always do.

The fastest and easiest way I have found to align my subconscious beliefs with my conscious goals is by using PSYCH-K balances. These balances create a Whole Brain State which increases the cross-talk between the two hemispheres of the brain. In effect, the brain is “firing on all cylinders”. This is an ideal environment to modify subconscious beliefs and maximize your full response potential. It is living in alignment.

In the illustration below are some great goal statements for Good Health. When we Balance each of these statements and create a Whole Brain State, we are aligning our subconscious beliefs with our conscious goals. It really is that easy! When we can get to the point where we are CONSCIOUSLY creating everything in our lives, we get to live the life we’ve always dreamed of living!!

Seeing Ourself Through the Filter of Others

While at a wedding a couple months ago, I couldn’t help but think about how all the many guests see the Bride from many different viewpoints. Each guest has a different perspective of the Bride from their own experience with her. For example, grandparents and cousins may see the Bride through their filter of childhood and innocence. Co-workers might only see the Bride through their filter of professionalism and responsibility,…

It reminded me of the episode of Seinfeld where he was dating a woman and feared his two worlds were colliding; that of his independent world where he was in charge and could do whatever he wanted, and that of his relationship world where he had others needs and emotions to consider. “If Relationship George walks through this door, he will kill Independent George! A George, divided against itself, *cannot* stand!” — George Costanza, Seinfeld.

George was so worried that only one of the Georges could come out “victorious”, when in all actuality we all are multi-faceted beings capable of integrating all the parts of us. Where the trouble can happen, in my opinion, is when people expect the person to remain that same person for the whole of their lives. The truth is we all grow and evolve year by year, day by day and even moment by moment. It would be very unfair for Grandma to see the Bride as the immature, rebellious teen-ager instead of the loving, respectful young lady she has become.

So as I pondered the experience of the Bride at her reception, I realized she had a difficult job at best. Say there are 100 guests at her party, and each guest sees her through the many different filters. That is a kaleidoscope of filters to see herself. How is it possible to be that many versions of yourself to all the different people?

I believe we are all going through this life trying to figure out who we truly are deep down inside, at the Soul level. It is not an easy task, for most of us, to remember who we truly are. For some it only takes years, for others it can take a lifetime…or longer! At each stage in our life we move forward having learned a little more about our true self. We don’t ever leave the old part behind, we take her with us! We don’t abandon that childhood innocence, we embrace her and absorb her into our essence!

The beliefs we have about others, and especially the beliefs we have of ourself, should change as we ourselves grow and evolve. It’s a good idea to revisit our beliefs every once in a while to see if we need to make changes in our life. Remember that our beliefs rule all. Whether you believe you can or if you believe you can’t, either way you are right! Change your subconscious beliefs and transform your life! Let the real YOU shine through!

Pickleball + PSYCH-K® = Game Changer

I read something the other day that said only 30-50% of people have an inner dialogue running in their head. I was flabbergasted to read that! I believed EVERYONE has that incessant inner voice droning non-stop just like I used to have.

9 years ago I was introduced to this sport with a funny name called pickleball. All it took was one time playing in our driveway with the neighbors and I was hooked. I quickly became addicted and had to get my fix every day if possible. By the time I was 50 I was playing in tournaments around the country. I remember my very first tournament I was so nervous my hands were shaking. At times I was so crippled by my inner dialogue I had trouble simply hitting the ball over the net.  I definitely did not play up to my potential and was disappointed in my performance.

A few years went by and the self-talk continued to plague me. I successfully medaled in many tournaments and also tanked in others. I would wonder to myself: how can I keep this disruptive part of my brain from ruining my performance and peace of mind? I remember thinking “This sport is supposed to be fun, not a punishment!”

Anyone who has ever had the “yips” (inability to get your serve in play after having done this correctly hundreds of times before) will tell you that it is truly debilitating. All it takes is for you to miss your serve one or two times during a critical time in a game. Then, next time it is your turn to serve, your inner voice keeps repeating “you’d better not miss it like you did last time!”  The brain is remembering that past negative experience and expecting it to happen again in the future. So once you are put in that same situation again, the brain starts expecting the worst. The subconscious loves to put past events on a repeating loop until it’s reconciled.

The reason this occurs is that when we have an emotionally charged event (missing our serve or other shot at a critical time), it is stored in our subconscious for future reference. This often triggers a dominance of one side of the brain over the other side and this neural pathway gets reinforced more as we keep believing it’s going to re-occur. That neural pathway gets stronger and stronger…until we do something about it! I knew I had to get my inner voice under control or it would end my competitive pickleball playing days.

Enter PSYCH-K®! I believed when I signed up to take my first PSYCH-K® Basic Workshop that I might be learning how to say good riddance to my negative self-talk; that roommate that no one wants to live with. And I was right! You see our beliefs create our reality. When we believe that we’re going to miss that serve or hit a bad shot, our subconscious is creating that reality over and over again. When we use PSYCH-K® Balances to create a Whole Brain State, we are re-scripting those limiting beliefs into self-empowering beliefs! This allows both hemispheres of the brain to work together in a state of coherency and open new neural pathways that generate positive results that we choose!

Of course these emotionally charged events don’t just happen in pickleball or performance in general…they happen in life! Maybe you gave an embarrassing speech at a speaking engagement and this has left you petrified to speak in public ever again. Or maybe you were told some bad news right after hearing the phone ring and now you are scared that every time you hear a phone ring you will receive bad news again. It’s all the same-it’s those emotionally charged events getting stored in our subconscious for future reference.

PSYCH-K® has been a literal game changer for me and there’s no limit to the things we can create a Whole-Brained State for! When we reach this state, we are operating at our full potential.

Change your subconscious beliefs and transform your life!  Let the real YOU shine through!
